Der OPI Nagellack der Woche: I São Paulo Over There

Brasilien ist immer noch im Kampf um den Weltmeistertitel. Also kann es hier auch nochmal weitergehen mit einem Lack aus der Brasilien Kollektion. Da gibt es schließlich noch so viele hübsche Farben zu entdecken. Ich sah erstmal São Paulo dort drüben und den sollt ihr auch sehen. I São Paulo Over There ist ein dunkles Taupe mit einem Hauch Lila. Er ist so etwas wie der dunklere Zwilling von Taupe-less Beach, oder nein besser noch: Ist Taupe-less Beach Luke Skywalker, ist I São Paulo Over There Darth Vader. Im Auftrag sind beide ein Traum, streifenfrei und deckend in zwei Schichten. Wenn ihr also einen etwas gedeckteren Farbton für den noch-nicht-so-Sommer braucht, möge I São Paulo Over There mit euch sein.

P.S Ich bin dafür, dass OPI eine Star Wars Kollektion heraus bringt. Vans&Rodarte können das schließlich auch. Ich bin zwar kein Fan der neueren Episoden, aber Disney's siebte Episode (wie das wohl werden wird?) bietet sich doch dafür an. Todesstern-Grau, C-3PO-Gold, Ewok-Braun, Meister Yoda-Grün (meine liebste Farbe das wird)...träumen dürfen man ja wohl noch wird. 

I hope you're not bored already, but I still have so many colors to show you from Opi's Brazil collection and while Brazil is still in it to win it, I will go on with this collection :) I thought that I São Paulo Over There would be a good choice for this week. It is a creamy, dark taupe with purple undertones. Taupe-less Beach and I São Paulo Over There could be from the same family. Imagine Taupe-less Beach to be Luke Skywalker and I São Paulo Over There to be Darth Vader. "I am your father". Okay, where were we? Yeah, right. Nail polish. So in terms of application, both, father and son (sorry, but there's no going back from there now) apply like a breeze. Two smooth coats and you're done. If you're looking for a pretty neutral (from the dark side) to accompany your spring clothes until summer finally arrives, I suggest that may I São Paulo Over There be with you. 

P.S Talking of Star Wars: How great would a Star Wars themed nail polish collection be? Come on, OPI. Rodarte did it and Vans did it, too. I mean, you have done Legally Blonde 2 (seriously) and Pirates of the Caribbean, why not stick to Disney and work together on a Star Wars Episode VII collection? Although I'm not exactly a fan of the newer episodes and I'm a little bit afraid how the latest will turn out, this could be fun. It could have some golden shades for C-3PO, a nice Death Star grey, a cute brown in honor of the cute Ewoks and of course a green shade for Master Yoda. Often wear it I will. Dreaming again I am...

New in: All black, but not everything

Es ist noch gar nicht lange her, da gab es  hier auf dem Blog einen post zu sehen, der einige schwarze Teile beherbergte. Nun, ich habe meine Meinung nicht geändert. Schwarz ist immer noch meine liebste Farbe. Und deswegen gibt es hier auch wieder ein paar neue, hübsche Schwarzmalereien. Und Überraschung: Auch mal etwas Farbe. Tatsächlich. In Form von Tragbarem. Ja ich weiß, verrückt. Ich musste auch zweimal in meine Shoppingtüten schauen.

The last time I showed you my new ins there was a lot of black stuff and well here's even more. But although black is my favorite color, I decided that it's time for some more colorful pieces in my summer closet. Be prepared for what you will see below. 

Camisoles sind ja auch wieder en vogue. Deswegen wurden es gleich zwei. Einmal in schwarz, damit ich es auch zu wirklich allem kombinierbar ist. Und dann noch mit Blumenmuster und Spitze. Blumen sind immer schön und auf dem Top sterben sie mir nicht weg. Ich tötete mal einen Kaktus (nicht vorsätzlich). Deshalb mag ich Grünzeug lieber nicht in echt. 

When whowhatwear.com announces that camisoles are "summer's hottest tops" (back in May), you better get yourself one ore two, yeah better two. I consider the black one my basic top and the other flower printed one to be the more chic one of the double. Besides that I have a rather complicated relationship with flowers/plants. I once murdered a cactus, by accident, but since then I like my flowers on a shirt not on my window bench.

Neulich dachte ich mir noch, "Mensch, jetzt bräuchtest du dazu noch einen schwarzen Body". Kurze Zeit später ist er da, der Body. Jetzt weiß leider nur nicht mehr wofür ich ihn wollte, den Body.
Vielleicht wollte ich ihn ja für meine neue High waist Hose von asos? Auch wenn nicht: ganz große Liebe hier. 

Just recently I was in need of a body suit. Most preferably in black. Now I have it and can't remember what I wanted it for in the first place. 

I thank god for bringing back high waisted jeans, they are so flattering. Bye bye muffin tops. See you next season.

Und jetzt wie versprochen: Farbe. Letztes Jahr blühte meine Liebe zu Maxi-Kleidern richtig auf. Was daran liegen wird, dass ich gleich zwei Kleider gefunden habe, die nicht zu lang sind. Und dieses Jahr  geht das Spiel von vorn los: Das rote Kleid von TkMaxx ist doch mal ein Hingucker, oder? Ich mag die Farbe, das Muster und erstaunlicherweise auch den fancy Rückenausschnitt.

Ready for some colorful pieces? Thought so. Just last year I discovered my love for long dresses. This year I added two more to my overwhelming collection of two dresses. The red one is so gorgeous. The back is fancy and I like the print on the bottom. Perfection.

Kleid Nummer zwei ist von New Yorker und existiert in anderer Farbkombi bereits in meinem Schrank. Aber es heißt doch: Never change a winning team.

Und noch ein bisschen Schwarz damit es nicht langweilig wird: Mein erster Jumpsuit. Ich habe es mir lange prophezeit und nun ist der Tag gekommen. Er passt perfekt und ist mal nicht zu lang. Die letzten Versuche mir einen Jumpsuit zuzulegen scheiterten einfach daran, dass ich dafür irgendwie zu klein war. Bis jetzt. Ich scheine über Nacht gewachsen zu sein. Passiert schon mal mit 26.

And to mix things up a bit, here another fabulous black piece: Say hello to my first jumpsuit. I've been dreaming of a jumpsuit for a long time now and here it is. All the other ones were either too long or I was too short for them. Maybe I have grown overnight in a magical way by using voodoo or something. It's quite common, so I heard.

Bei dieser Jeans von H&M konnte ich nicht nein sagen. Sitzt perfekt, hat eine optimale Länge, eine geschlitzte Kniepartie und war auch noch im Sale. Hallo Glückstag. Komm doch bitte bald wieder! 

These jeans were just what I was looking for. Their fit is great, the length is no issue, a little bit ripped in the right places and I found them while shopping H&M's sale items. Yep, I was lucky.

Mir ist aufgefallen, dass ich nur ein weißes Kleid besitze und es noch nie getragen habe. Es ist ein zauberhaftes, weißes Spitzenkleid. Seit zwei Jahren warte ich auf die richtige Gelegenheit es zu tragen. Vielleicht habe ich ja mit diesem Teil von H&M mehr Glück. Es hat lange Ärmel und die perfekte Länge. Beste Voraussetzungen also.

Let's welcome my new little white dress. I already have a white lace dress that is still hanging in my closet, somehow I never wore it. Maybe this one will be worn more frequently. I like that it has long sleeves and isn't too short.

Dieses Teil ist für den Hippie in mir. Fransen sind immer ein bisschen Isabel Marant und Free Spirit like und so und vielleicht kann ich mich ja überwinden mal Sandalen dazu anzuziehen (ich mag keine offenen Schuhe). Das gäbe das ultimative Woodstock feeling. Ansonsten tun es auch meine Mokassins von Zara oder meine Wildleder Ankle Boots. 

I channeled my inner Woodstock hippie and decided that I need this fringey number here. It will look great with sandals and a headband, but I don't think that neither the sandals nor the headband will be happening, so I guess I will pair it with my studded moccasins from Zara or suede ankle boots. Not all hippies had a thing for sandals, right?

Garnier Fructis Pracht Auffüller Shampoo und Conditioner

Neulich durfte ich Garnier Fructis neueste Haarpflegelinie mit dem klangvollen Namen Pracht Auffüller testen. Pracht Auffüller soll durch Granatapfel-Extrakt und einem neuartigen Molekül namens Fibra-Cyclane, üppigeres und volleres Haar zaubern. Klingt schon mal vielversprechend. Sowohl das Shampoo, als auch der Conditioner kommen in einer hübschen, pinken Verpackung daher. Beide Produkte duften fruchtig, aber nicht nach Candyshop. Bei empfindlichen Nasen dürfte der Duft grad noch so durchgehen. Nun aber zum wichtigsten Part: Der Test.
Die Anwendung weicht nicht vom normalen Gebrauch mit Shampoo und Spülung ab, daher kann ich mir den Teil ja sparen. Nach dem Waschen und Föhnen (normales über Kopf-Föhnen, nothing fancy mit Rundbürste oder Lockenwicklern) konnte ich tatsächlich einen leichten Effekt feststellen. Meine Haare fühlten sich griffiger an und sahen etwas voluminöser aus. Normalerweise neigen meine Haare dazu, ihr Volumen nach etwa zwei Stunden in den Feierabend zu schicken. Der Effekt hielt mit dem Pracht Auffüller Shampoo doch schon etwas länger an. Mein einziger Minuspunkt: Aufgrund meiner wahnsinnig empfindlichen Kopfhaut kann ich meine Haare nicht täglich waschen und muss öfter mal ein spezielles Shampoo benutzen. Durch die Pracht Auffüller Pflege fetten meine Haare etwas stärker als ich es von anderen Shampoos gewohnt bin. Kein Drama also und auch nichts, was ein gutes Trockenshampoo nicht ausgleichen könnte. Das nur am Rande.
Wer also feines, plattes Haar hat und sich eine üppigere Mähne wünscht, könnte hier eine gute Lösung gefunden haben.

Das Garnier Fructis Pracht Auffüller Shampoo, Conditioner, Creme-Kur und Serum sind ab Juni im Handel erhältlich. 

Garnier Fructis sent me two new hair care products for review. Their latest hair care series is called Pracht Auffüller and is supposed to add volume to your hair with the help of pomegranate extracts and a new molecule they call fibra-cyclane (I suck at physics, so please no further questions here). The shampoo and conditioner come in a pink packaging and with a fruity scent, but it's not overwhelmingly sweet. Even if you are not a fan of perfumed products, you should be okay with it. 

After washing my hair with the shampoo and conditioner there were some visible results. Pracht Auffüller added a little bit of volume to my hair. 

It's not like I had dramatic Big Hair (Dallas tv series style), but I could see a slight difference.

Unfortunately my scalp is very sensitive so that I need to use a special shampoo from time to time and can't wash my hair everyday, but with Pracht Auffüller I need to wash it daily. My hair got a little greasy the next day, more than I'm used to. Dry shampoo helps a lot, but I like my hair fresh. Just keep that in mind.
So if you have fine hair with zero volume and would like to add some pump, I suggest you give Pracht Auffüller a try.

Garnier's Pracht Auffüller series will hit stores in Germany in June. I'm not sure when or if it will be available in other countries.

Der Opi Nagellack der Woche: Taupe-less Beach

Da die WM in vollem Gange ist, musste diese Woche wieder ein Lack aus der Brazil Kollektion herhalten. Taupe-less Beach ist ein gräuliches Taupe mit einem Hauch Lila. Ich hatte ein bisschen Sorge, dass Taupe-less Beach zu Grau sein würde und meine Hände dann so leichenhaft wirken, aber falscher Alarm. Damit könnte ich mich auf jeden fall an einem (wenn auch nicht 'oben ohne') Strand sehen lassen. Die Textur ist ein Traum. Keine Streifen, alles verteilt sich gleichmäßig und zwei Schichten sorgen für ein perfektes Ergebnis.

Übrigens hat mich das helle Taupe sofort an Berlin There Done That (hier zu sehen) aus der Germany Kollektion erinnert. Ein kurzer Vergleich bestätigt zwar eine entfernte Verwandschaft, aber kein akuter Fall von Zwillingsverhältnis.

For this weak's color you don't necessarily need to enjoy lazy days on a topless beach, but you maybe like taupe colors on your nails. The FIFA world cup in Brazil is taking place right now and so I am literally forced to show you another nail polish of Opi's Brazil collection. Taupe-less Beach is a pretty neutral color, a taupe with grey and purple undertones. I thought that it might be too gray for my skintone, you know leaving my hands with that corpse-like look, but nothing like that. The formula is just on point, totally self leveling and opaque with two easy coats.

Taupe-less Beach immediately reminded me of Berlin There Done (here you have it) That from Opi's Germany collection and so I compared my swatch sticks and realized that they are somewhat similar, but no. No dupe, dude.

Der Opi Nagellack der Woche: Mermaid's Tears

Diese Woche gibt es eine kleine Pause von der Brazil Kollektion. Schließlich gibt es ja noch so viele  andere, tolle (Sommer-) Farben aus vergangenen Kollektion. Eine solche Perle ist beispielsweise Mermaid's Tears aus der Pirates of the Caribbean Kollektion aus dem Jahr 2011. Es ist eine perfekte Mischung aus Mint- und Meeresgrün. Sieht super aus zu Rot, Weiß und Gold. Damit fühle ich mich auch ein bisschen wie ein Seeräuber und muss mich zusammenreißen, um nicht alle mit "Ai ai ihr Landratten" (inklusive gerolltem 'R' und fiesem Blick) zu begrüßen. Das Gute daran: Am internationalen Talk Like a Pirate Day am 19. September kann ich das auch den ganzen Tag über tun...Jo-ho, Jo-ho...

I thought it's time to give Opi's Brazil collection a break and focus on other pretty summer colors from past collections. Mermaid's Tears is one of the shades I always reach for when the weather gets warmer. Mermaid's Tears was part of the limited Pirates of the Caribbean collection that was released back in 2011.

It is a nice, dusty green that reminds me of the sea (obviously) and looks great compared with white, red and gold. Did you know that there is an international Talk Like a Pirate Day? Yep, it's true. 9/19 is the day to remember for all the drunken sailors out there.

Oh and if this is what Mermaid's Tears actually look like, well then Ariel keep on crying girl!

Der Opi Nagellack der Woche: Don't Bossa Nova Me Around

Endlich sind sie alle da: Die komplette Brazil Bestellung ist angekommen. Das Bild habe ich ja schon auf Instagram geteilt, aber ich mache es gerne nochmal. Ich habe kaum noch Platz alle meine Lacke unterzubringen, deshalb war der Aufsteller eine gute Wahl. Auf diesen Lack habe ich mich ziemlich gefreut. Don't Bossa Nova Me Around aus der aktuellen Brazil Kollektion ist ein helles, pastelliges Rosa mit lila Einschlag. Er wird sicherlich großartig auf gebräunter Haut aussehen (die ich wahrscheinlich nur nie haben werde^^). Ich brauchte nur zwei Schichten Don't Bossa Nova Me Around und ein wenig Topcoat für die Bilder unten. Hatte ich schon erwähnt, wie großartig dieser Name ist? Don't Bossa Nova Me Around. Diese Genies bei Opi...

Finally: My OPI Brazil order has arrived. I already shared a picture of it on my Instagram, but I love to do it again. I have zero space left on my nail polish shelves and so the display is great for storing my new ins. I was looking forward to this particular shade: Don't Bossa Nova Me Around is a light rose pink (with some purple in it?). This will look so great with a tan (the tan I will never have). But if you get tanned easily you need this nail polish. The pictures below show two coats of Don't Bossa Nova Me Around and one coat of topcoat. Can we please sit down for a moment and talk about this name? I mean Don't Bossa Nova Me Around...how do they always come up with names like this?

New in: Colorful jewelry

In meinem Schrank ist nicht alles Schwarz. Vieles, aber eben nicht alles. In meinem Schmuckkästchen tummeln sich mehr Farben als auf marokkanischen Gewürzmärkten. Ernsthaft. Zwei bunte Neuzugänge gibt es hier zu sehen. 

Die Kette musste ich haben, weil sie der Inbegriff von Statement ist, riesengroß und ultra bunt und damit anderen Outfit-Schnickschnack überflüssig macht und farblich zu mindestens einer Handvoll Frühling/Sommer Nagellacken passt, die noch lackiert werden müssen. 

If you don't call this a colorful statement necklace, then I don't know what a colorful statement necklace should look like. It combines some of my favorite nail polish shades for summer. How great.

Der Opi Nagellack der Woche: Red Hot Rio

Meiner Meinung nach, sollte jede gute Nagellack Kollektion ein hübsches Rot vorweisen können. In Opis Brazil Kollektion wäre das dann Red Hot Rio. Es ist ein schönes, intensives Rot mit Jelly Finish. Eigentlich sind mir cremige Farben lieber, weil man damit das vnl (visible nail line) -Problem umgeht, aber: Red Hot Rio gehört zu den guten, deckenden Jelly-Hybriden. Zwei Schichten, kein Durchschimmern des Nagels und perfekter Glanz.

Every good nail polish collection needs at least one nice red shade. Opi's Brazil collection has it and named it Red Hot Rio. It is a crelly, a creme and jelly hybrid. I prefer creme over jelly nail polish, simply to avoid a visible nail line, but Red Hot Rio has enough creme "in it" to cover my nails completely with just two coats. And it is incredibly shiny, too.
