Der OPI Nagellack der Woche: Vant To Bite My Neck?

Vant To Bite My Neck? Und alle Vampire so: Yeeeeah! Der Nagellack der Woche wurde im letzten Frühjahr mit der Euro Centrale Kollektion released und steckte in meinem Nikolausstiefel im Dezember. Eigentlich gehörte Vant To Bite My Neck? nicht zu meinen Favoriten aus der Kollektion, bis naja... bis ich ihn dann mal aufgepinselt habe (so ist es doch immer, oder?). Vant To Bite My Neck? ist ein dunkles, kühles Lila. OPI nennt es Aubergine, könnte hinkommen. Das Cremefinish ist ein Träumchen und mit einer Schicht ist alles perfekt, wirklich perfekt, ohne Streifen und ohne fleckiges Finish. Topcoat drauf und den Vampir seiner Wahl treffen.

Vant To Bite My Neck? has been released last year with Opi's Euro Centrale spring collection. It was a gift from my parents. When I saw early pictures of this collection I didn't think much of this color, but once I applied it to my nails I was like whooooa (its always the same, isn't it?)! Vant To Bite My Neck? is a dark, cool toned purple. Opi calls it a deep eggplant, might be it. Formulawise it is like heaven in a bottle: perfect creme and a one coater, no, rather the one coater. Add some top coat, bend your neck a little and you're good to go. Or to be eaten. Your choice.

MAC Magnetic Nude Collection LE lipstick: Morning Rose

Die Magnetic Nude Kollektion von MAC hat mir wirklich, wirklich unheimlich gut gefallen und weil Blush und Skinfinish noch nicht genug waren, habe ich mir noch den Cremesheen lipstick in der Farbe Morning Rose eingepackt. Wenn es um Lippenstift geht, komme ich um alles was in Richtung Rosenholz geht nur schwer herum. Morning Rose ist ein mittlerer Roséton, der einen warmen Unterton hat und fast schon peachig ist. Er enthält Schimmer und ist leicht metallisch. Das Cremesheen Finish ist bei einmaligem Auftrag semi-transparent, wird aber intensiver durch mehrere Schichten. Ich mag die Farbe, weil sie sehr natürlich ist und auch mal ohne Spiegel aufgetragen werden kann. 19€ hat das gute Stück gekostet und ist bei mir fast täglich in Gebrauch.

MAC's Magnetic Nude collection just hit my sweet spot, especially the blush and skinfinish and so I couldn't let the Morning Rose cremesheen lipstick pass me by. Morning Rose is a soft rose with warm undertones and a hint of peach in it. It shimmers slightly and is a tad frosty, but only a tad. The cremesheen finish makes it semi-transparent, but you can get good color pay off by applying more layers. I really like rose colors and so this beauty here is always somewhere in my purse. Morning Rose is a pretty color for everyday and you don't necessarily need a mirror to apply it. Price: 19€.

Der OPI Nagellack der Woche: From Me To Q

Den Nagellack der Woche habe ich vor kurzem bei TkMaxx ergattert. Es passiert eigentlich selten, dass ich einen Opi Nagellack finde und von der Farbe noch nie etwas gehört habe. Auch wenn man die Kollektion vielleicht nicht "miterlebt" hat, kennt man doch die Namen der Farben irgendwie. Aber bei From Me To Q? Fehlanzeige. Dr. Google brachte Licht ins Dunkle: From Me To Q stammt aus einer Kollektion die exklusiv für QVC in England produziert wurde. Es ist ein cremiges, smoky Rot mit pinken Untertönen. Schwer zu beschreiben. Nicht knallig, aber auch nicht zu "matt". Wie gesagt, schwer zu beschreiben. Eigentlich greife ich im Winter lieber zu dunkleren Farben, aber From Me To Q ist irgendwie herbstlich. Ein bisschen, Irgendwie. Die Farbe ist ein klassischer One Coater, aber die Macht der Gewohnheit zwang mich zu zwei Schichten plus Topcoat.

I scored this week's nail polish at my local TkMaxx. I can't remember having found a shade of OPI I haven't ever heard of. I mean there are collections which have been released ages ago, but at least you have heard of the names somehow. But when I found From Me To Q it was like blank, nothing, no clue where it comes from. I asked Google for help and Google had the answer: From Me To Q was a QVC UK exclusive. It is a creamy, dusty red with pink undertones, not bold and bright but also not dull. I can't quite describe it. I prefer darker colors for this season of the year, but From Me To Q feels somehow very fall like to me. You can easily get away with one coat. My pictures show two coats of From Me To Q plus top coat.

MAC Magnetic Nude Collection LE Extra Dimension Skinfinish: Fairly Precious

MACs Magnetic Nude collection hat mir so wahnsinnig gut gefallen, dass neben dem Blush auch ein Lippenstift und das Skinfinish mit durften. Das Extra Dimension Skinfinish in Fairly Precious ist neu, also kein Repromote und natürlich auch limitiert. Fairly Precious ist ein leicht peachiger Ton mit Schimmer in rosé-Farben. Er ist schon recht metallisch, dabei aber sehr fein, so dass auf der Haut keine groben Glitzerpartikel zu sehen sind. Es hat die gleiche Prägung wie auch das Rouge aus dieser Kollektion (hier zu sehen). Neben Fairly Precious gab es die Extra Dimension Skinfinishes auch noch in den Farben Superb und Magnetic Appeal. Ich benutze ihn hauptsächlich als Highligter und um mattem Rouge zu mehr Glanz zu verhelfen. Wie es bei Limited Editions oft der Fall ist, sind die meisten Produkte natürlich schon längst ausverkauft. Ich habe mein Skinfinish bei Douglas für ca. 28€ gekauft. Wer es unbedingt noch haben möchte, sollte vielleicht einmal bei Ebay schauen.

I really liked MAC's limited Magnetic Nude collection and so I ended up with the blush, lipstick and Fairly Precious Extra Dimension Skinfinish. Fairly Precious is a new, limited color, it is not a repromote like the others in this collection (Superb was promoted before and Magnetic Appeal is also new). It is a peachy color with rose golden shimmer. Though it has a metallic shine to it, it has no large glitter in it. I use it as a highlighter and to add some shine to matte blushes. I'm not sure if it is still available somewhere, I double checked my usual sources and couldn't find anything (I purchased my Skinfinish at my local Douglas for 28€), maybe you will find it on Ebay.

Der OPI Nagellack der Woche: Warm Me Up

My Private Jet, den ich vor zwei Wochen vorgestellt habe (hier zu sehen) hat mich irgendwie auf den Geschmack gebracht. Warm Me Up aus der Mariah Carey Holiday Kollektion 2013 hat auch wieder eine gräulich-bräunliche Base mit silbernerem und sehr, sehr feinem Mini-Schimmer in Multifarben. Die erste Schicht Warm Me Up war noch etwas fleckig, aber die zweite Schicht hat alles schön ausgeglichen. Noch etwas Topcoat, damit der Schimmer schön zur Geltung kommt und schwupps bin ich begeistert von der Farbe.

When I showed you My Private Jet two weeks ago (see it here) I had no clue how much I like colors like these. Warm Me Up from Mariah Carey's holiday collection 2013 also has a brownish charcoal base with some silver and very tiny multicolored shimmer. The first coat was a little bit patchy, but the second coat did an excellent job. I also used some top coat to really bring out the shimmer in Warm Me Up. Maybe it is somewhat frosty, but it definitely does warm me up. So pretty.

Der OPI Nagellack der Woche: Malaga Wine

Ein Klassiker. Malaga Wine von Opi ist Teil des Standardsortiments von Opi, aber ich hab irgendwie nicht rausfinden können wann oder mit welcher Kollektion er released wurde. Malaga Wine ist ein schönes dunkles Blutrot mit Crelly Finish, halb creme halb jelly also. Zwei Schichten plus Toocoat (nur für die Haltbarkeit, Glanz ist auch genug ohne vorhanden) und fertig. Rot, klassisch, immer schön.

This is such a classic. Malaga Wine is a deep bloody red with a crelly finish, so it's half creme half jelly with insane shine. It belongs to Opi's classics and should be available everywhere. Unfortunately I have no clue when this was released or which collection it belonged to originally.

MAC Magnetic Nude Collection LE Extra Dimension Blush: Autoerotique

Wieder mal eine hübsche Limited Edition Kollektion von MAC. Die Magnetic Nude Kollektion wurde vor ein paar Tagen released und war auch relativ fix ausverkauft. Ich habe mir unter anderem das Extra Dimension Blush in der Farbe Autoerotique mitgenommen. MAC nennt es ein "dirty coral rose". Es ist ein dunkler, nicht reiner Korallenton, da würde ich MAC also zustimmen. Das Rouge hat eine Satintextur, schimmert also leicht und ist weder zu matt noch zu glitzerlastig. Es sieht nicht nur wunderhübsch aus im Pfännchen, sondern auch schön natürlich auf den Wangen. Man muss die Farbe ein wenig kräftiger mit dem Pinsel aufnehmen, aber das Ergebnis lohnt sich. Das Ergebnis hält bei mir fast den ganzen Tag. Ca. 25€ muss man für das gute Stück hinblättern. Bei der Farbe, gerne! Hätte mir gerne noch ein Backup eingepackt, weil die Farbe natürlich limitiert ist und auch kein Repromote ist (soweit ich informiert bin).


Another pretty limited edition collection by MAC. They just always get it right. The all new Magnetic Nude Collection has been released a few days ago here in Germany and sold out fast. I got my hands on the Extra Dimension Blush in Autoerotique. MAC calls it a "dirty coral rose", I can totally agree with that. It does look pretty in the pan and even prettier when applied. Plus it looks very natural. It has a satin texture, not matte and not too shimmery. I had to swirl my brush a few times in the pan to get enough color, but once applied it lasted nearly all day on my skin. I purchased my blush at Douglas for about 25€ and wish I had purchased a back-up, because of course this is limited and not a repromote as far as I'm informed.

Der OPI Nagellack der Woche: My Private Jet

Kann man das Jahr besser starten als mit einem Privatjet? Ich glaube nicht. Meiner kann zwar nicht fliegen, aber ich fliege total auf My Private Jet von Opi (sooo schlecht, ich weiß ;) ). My Private Jet aus der Night Brights Kollektion von 2007 ist einer dieser Lacke, den man haben sollte. Er ist einfach fancy. Es gibt im Netz haufenweise Berichte über eine ältere und neuere Version des Lackes. Ich habe den Bildern zu urteilen einen aus der neueren Auflage. Nichtsdestotrotz ist er wunderschön.

My Private Jet hat eine dunkelgraue und leicht bräunliche Basisfarbe und multifarbenen Glitzer. Ursprünglich hatte der original My Private Jet einen deutlichen Holoeffekt. Dieser ist hier auch noch vorhanden, aber schwächer ausgeprägt bzw ist er im Fläschchen sichtbarer. 

Ich habe zwei Schichten plus Topcoat aufgetragen, weil der Lack wahrscheinlich durch meinen Basecoat etwas matt wirkte. 

Is there a better way than starting the new year with a private jet? Not exactly in a private jet taking off to some pretty beach or to New York (oh NYC, I miss u), but with Opi's My Private Jet nail polish on my nails. My Private Jet has been released with the Night Brights collection in 2007. It's on the list of must-have polishes. Why? Because it's so fancy.

There are tons of posts about the original My Private Jet formula which OPI discontinued and the newer version. Apparently I have the new formula. 

My Private Jet has a charcoal base and some brownish undertones with multicolored, fine glitter. The discontinued  nail polish had a stronger holographic effect. I can see hints of it in my version too but they are not as visible as in the original. Although it is somewhat visible in the bottle. 

The pictures below show one coat of my regular base coat, two coats of My Private Jet and one coat of top coat. My base coat somehow flattened the color a little bit, so I needed the top coat to add some extra shine.
