Der OPI Nagellack der Woche: Brisbane Bronze

"Das sieht ja aus wie flüssiges Metall!" Stimmt. Brisbane Bronze aus der Australia Collection vom Sommer 2007 ist ein schimmernder Bronze/Kupferton, der an Sonnenöl erinnern soll. Tut er. Obwohl die Farbe für mich eher herbstlich daher kommt. Zwei Schichten sind im Handumdrehen getrocknet und Topcoat nimmt das etwas matte Finish. Am besten benutzt ihr auch einen Ridgefiller, der Lack setzt sich gerne in den Rillen ab. Siehe Foto.

Brisbane Bronze erinnert mich sehr an Sprung aus der Mariah Carey Kollektion (hier zu sehen). Also habe ich meine Swatchsticks verglichen. Zu ähnlich? Muss man beide haben? Ich tendiere mehr zu Sprung, weil er facettenreicher ist und noch intensiver schimmert.


"It looks like liquid metal." Yes, that's right. Brisbane Bronze from the 2007 Australia Collection is a shimmering bronze/copper color that should remind you of tanning oil. It does, but it also feels very fall-like to me. Two fast drying coats are enough for full opacity and a top coat adds extra shine. Oh and use a ridge filler, the pictures show why.

Brisbane Bronze immediately reminded me of Sprung from the Mariah Carey collection that has been released earlier this year (see swatches here). I compared the swatch sticks of both to see if they are dupes. Too close? Not close at all? Do you need both? I think I'm a little bit more attracted to Sprung because it is richer in color and has more shimmer and dimension in it than Brisbane Bronze.

Stuff I love: Treaclemoon Warm Cinnamon Nights Duschcreme

Weihnachten steht gefühlt schon übermorgen vor der Tür und die Kosmetikindustrie wirft schon laufend hübsche Holiday Kollektionen auf den Markt. Der Weihnachtsmarkt hat seine Pforten geöffnet und schon riecht es in der ganzen Stadt wieder nach Glühwein, gebrannten Mandeln und Zimt. Zimt ist hier das richtige Stichwort. Treaclemoon hat ein limitiertes Duschgel herausgebracht, das auf den Namen Warm Cinnamon Nights hört. Wer mich kennt, weiß, dass ich alles liebe was mit Zimt zu tun hat: Ich trinke meinen Kaffee mit Zimt, backe gerne Zimtplätzchen und ach ich könnte den ganzen Tag schnuppernd vor einer Zimtdose liegen. Völlig klar also, dass ich dieses Duschgel haben musste!
Warm Cinnamon Nights riecht jetzt nicht unbedingt total nach Zimt, aber ich nehme eine leichte, vielleicht auch künstliche Note wahr. Und dazu diese Farbe. Damit komme ich mir schon so festlich vor unter der Dusche (kann man das so sagen?).
500ml gibt es bei dm für 3,95€. Ich werde mir auf jeden fall noch ein back up besorgen. Der Fluch der Limited Edition....


Christmas is just around the corner and you can find new pretty holiday-themed make up kits everyday. This also means that it's just about time for the Christmas market to open it's gates and seduce me with the delicious smell of winter punch, all kinds of sweets and of course cinnamon. I love cinnamon. I like to drink my coffee with it, cinnamon cookies are one of my favs and I can totally see me sniffling a pack of cinnamon all day long. So no surprise here, that I had to have Treaclemoon's new limited edition shower cream called Warm Cinnamon Nights. Maybe it doesn't smell as cinnamon-y as you might expect it to smell, but it has some (artificial) hints of it in it. Plus: It's red. Sooo festive. When I use it in the shower, it already feels like christmas to me.
500ml of Warm Cinnamon Nights retail for 3,95€ at your local dm stores. I will need a back up of this for sure. Damn you limited edition...

Stuff I love: Cookies and even more cookies

Dass ich Kekse liebe, habe ich ja schon bei dem post über Erdnussbutter-cookies gepredigt (hier zu lesen). Backen entspannt mich auch irgendwie und der Duft von frisch gebackenen Plätzchen in der ganzen Wohnung ist es auch einfach wert. In letzter Zeit habe ich einige Rezepte aus dem Brigitte Plätzchen Extra probiert und sie waren alle so lecker, dass ruckzuck nichts mehr übrig war. Der OPI Nagellack der Woche: Danke-Shiny Red

Danke-Shiny Red aus der Germany Kollektion vom letzten Jahr ist ein richtiger Weihnachtslack. Ich liebe solche Zuckerstangen/ Paradisapfelrottöne. Dieser intensive Schimmer ist einfach der Wahnsinn. Farben wie Danke-Shiny Red habe ich in vielfacher Ausführung, einfach weil sie so hübsch anzuschauen sind und mich in Nullkommanichts in Weihnachtsstimmung bringen (das heutige Kekse Backen hat auch nicht unbedingt geschadet). Danke-Shiny Red ist super gut pigmentiert, wenn es schnell gehen muss, reicht eine Schicht locker. Ich empfehle Topcoat, um den Schimmer noch zu intensivieren. Von mir aus kann Weihnachten kommen!

Danke-Shiny Red is a perfect Christmas nail polish. I love such candy cane or love apple colors. The shimmer is so intense that it creates this lit from within look. Danke-Shiny Red from last year's Germany collection is also great for getting into the holiday spirit (that's why I have several reds like Danke-Shiny Red). 

It is nicely pigmented and the formula is really a gift: You can get away with just one coat and I recommend adding top coat to intensify the shimmer. How many more weeks to go till Christmas? What ever, I'm ready!

Der OPI Nagellack der Woche: Muir Muir On the Wall

Ich könnte diesen Post jetzt so anfangen, wie man es bei dem Namen des Nagellacks erwartet: "Spieglein, Spieglein an der Wand, welcher ist der schönste Lack in diesem Land?" Mache ich aber nicht. 

Stattdessen hier eine kleine Anekdote aus meiner Kindheit (es gab mehr als nur Mariah Carey in meinen Kindertagen). 

Meine absolute Favoritin unter den Märchenfiguren ist Schneewittchen. Dieser Look. Schwarzes Haar wie Ebenholz, weiße Haut wie Schnee und blutrote Lippen (sie hat den oxblood-Trend schon kommen sehen O_O). Ich weiß nicht, wie oft ich die Verfilmung von Walt Disney schon gesehen habe. Ich kann sie auf Deutsch und Englisch mitsprechen- und singen, Letzteres ist im Klang zwar unschön, aber der Wille zählt. Ich habe sogar mal eine Hausarbeit über Grimms Märchenmeisterwerk geschrieben. Und ja, ich besitze auch ein Schneewittchen Karnevalskostüm. An dieser Stelle muss ich meine Eltern kurz erwähnen. Sie sind großartig. Die besten Eltern überhaupt. An meinem ersten Schultag allerdings ließen sie mich im Rotkäppchen-Komplettlook inklusive Rotkäppchen-Schultüte auflaufen. Macht Sinn wenn man weiß, dass Schneewittchen meine Heldin ist. Danke dafür. Beweis siehe unten.
Aber zurück zur eigentlichen Geschichte.

Wie wahrscheinlich war es also, dass ich diese Farbe haben musste? Richtig. Unumgänglich. Hinzu kommt, dass Muir Muir On the Wall auch noch eine echte Traumfarbe ist. Zwei Fliegen mit einer Klappe geschlagen. Muir Muir On The Wall aus der diesjährigen Herbst/Winter San Francisco-Kollektion hat einen leichten Duochrome-Effekt: Die Farbe changiert zwischen Braun, Pflaume, Bordeaux und Olivgrün. Ich finde, dass es eine Mischung aus Espresso Your Style und Every Month Is Oktoberfest ist (hier und hier zum Vergleich). Er braucht zwei Schichten um voll deckend zu sein. Muir Muir On The Wall ist enthalten in dem Little Bits of Chic-Miniset. Eventuell werde ich mir die Farbe noch in Fullsize kaufen. Ein Back up kann ja nie schaden. Ich möchte irgendwann schließlich nicht fragen müssen: Spieglein, Spieglein an der Wand, welcher war der schönste Lack in diesem Land?

I could start this post with the famous phrase "Mirror, mirror on the wall which is the fairest nail polish of them all?". But no. I want to start this with some child hood memories (yes, there is more than Mariah Carey): My favorite fairy tale princess of all times is snow white. Her look. Hair as black as ebony, skin as white as snow, lips as red as blood (she saw that whole oxblood trend coming like ages ago). I don't know how many times I have seen Disney's Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. I can sing along the whole thing, sounds horrible, but hey I always put my heart in it. I even wrote a research paper on Grimm's best known fairy tale and yes, I do own a snow white costume. I have to mention my parents at this point: They are just great. They are the best parents on earth. But on my first day of school they decided to dress me up as the little red riding hood to match my little red riding hood school cone. Great idea, if your kid's favorite fairy tale is the little red riding hood. Can't image that? See below.  
But back to snow white.
Of course it's no coincident that I needed a color named Muir Muir On The Wall. It's not only the name, it's also the color. So so pretty. Muir Muir On The Wall has been released with this year's fall/winter San Francisco collection. It has a duo chrome effect and the color changes depending on your angle between plum, brown, dark red and olive green. If Espresso Your Style (swatches here) and Every Month Is Oktoberfest (see it here) had a love child, it would be Muir Muir On The Wall. I needed two coats for full opacity. It's part of the Little Bits of Chic-Miniset, but I think I will need a full-size bottle of it as a back up. Imagine me asking "Mirror, mirror on the wall, which was the fairest nail polish of them all?". The horror!

Deborah Lippman: Laughin' To The Bank

Kann das sein? Kein Opi Nagellack hier auf dem Blog? Ich war auch kurz geschockt. Aber jetzt atmen wir mal kurz durch und schauen uns dieses Schätzchen etwas genauer an. Nagellackjunkies ist der Name Deborah Lippmann sowieso schon lange ein Begriff und ich bin natürlich auch schon öfter drum herumgeschlichen, aber aufgrund meiner monogamen Beziehung zu Opi hab ich die Lacke immer liegen lassen.

Jetzt also ist es soweit, mein erster Lack von Deborah Lippmann. Laughin' To The Bank aus der aktuellen Juwel Heist Herbstkollektion ist ein wunderschöner, festlicher, intensiv grüner Smaragd/Tannenbaumton. Er schimmert tatsächlich wie echte Juwelen. 

Der Pinsel ist nicht der typische ProWide-Pinsel, den ich von Opi gewohnt bin, sondern ist viel schmaler. Trotzdem konnte ich super und genau damit arbeiten. Der Auftrag war streifenfrei und nach zwei Schichten perfekt deckend. Ich habe den Lack drei Tage getragen bis leichte Tipwear zu sehen war und die Trockenzeit ist mit Topcoat auch ganz fix. 

Ob ich jetzt öfter Ausnahmen machen werde? Wir werden sehen. 

Erhältlich sind Deborah Lippmann Nagellacke unter anderem über niche beauty und mit 22€ spielen sie ganz klar in der oberen Preisliga mit. Wenn die Qualität stimmt, bezahlt ein Nagellackjunkie diesen Preis aber gerne. 

Is this really happening? It's a nail polish, it's not from Opi and it's here on the blog. Shocking, I know. But let's take a deep breath and then let's have a look at this newbie in my stash: All you crazy beauty junkies know Deborah Lippmann and I must admit that there have been times in my life when I nearly got me one of Lippmann's nail polishes, but I believe in monogamy and so I believe in sticking to my OPI's. Until now: Laughin' To The Bank is from Deborah Lippmann's 2013 fall collection called Jewel Heist and is a dark, jewel green, shimmering color. Jewel is really on the point. The brush isn't my usual ProWide brush Opi is known for, it's thinner, but I could work with it very well. Two coats are enough for full opacity and showed no visible brush strokes. Drying time was short with the help of a top coat and tip wear showed up after three days. 

Is this it now? My long term relationship with Opi ruined? We will see. 

Niche beauty has them all (in case you just fell in love with Laughin' To The Bank). Deborah Lippmann nail polishes retail for about 22€, high end you see. But if you're a nail polish lover, your willing to pay that price, right?

Der OPI Nagellack der Woche: Louvre Me Louvre Me Not

Hier mal wieder ein Schätzchen aus der von mir heiß geliebten La Collection de France: Louvre Me Louvre Me Not. Dieser wunderschöne, rötliche Pflaumenton mit pinkem Schimmer wurde im Herbst 2008 released und müsste mittlerweile schon zu den Klassikern aus dem OPI Sortiment gehören. Nach der ersten Schicht wirkte die Farbe noch etwas dünn auf den Nägeln, aber eine zweite Schicht und Topcoat liefern ein perfektes Ergebnis. Der pinke Schimmer ist im Fläschchen gut sichtbar, leider ist er auf den Nägeln weniger auffällig. Das macht den Lack allerdings nicht weniger schön. Louvre Me Louvre Me Not ist ein toller, lebendiger Herbstton und kann uneingeschränkt von mir empfohlen werden!

Here we have another lovely nail polish from Opi's great 2008 La Collection de France: Louvre Me Louvre Me Not. It's a gorgeous red toned plum with pink shimmer in it. The shimmer is very visible in the bottle, but less visible on the nail. Nevertheless it's a great color. I needed two coats for full opacity and top coat for ultimate shine. This one must be a classic by now and available at your usual OPI sources. Louvre Me Louvre Me Not is a nice color for fall and you should get it if your on the hunt for a pretty plum color to have in your stash!

Yves Saint Laurent - Vernis Á Lèvres Glossy Stain - Rebel Nudes 107Naughty Mauve

Ich bin überhaupt kein Lipgloss-Mädchen. Glanz auf den Lippen ist nur bedingt mein Ding. Aber ich habe eine Ausnahme gefunden. Den YSL Rouge Pur Couture Vernis Á Lèvres Glossy Stain. Längst ein alter Hut. Aber erst mit der Rebel Nudes Kollektion bin ich auf ihn aufmerksam geworden. Die Farbe 107 Naughty Mauve war ein Geschenk und die Farbwahl ist einfach perfekt für mich. Er sieht auf den Lippen nicht zu geschminkt aus und glänzt auch nicht übermäßig. Rosy Mauve ist ein natürlicher Rosenholzton mit einem dezenten mauve-farbenem Schimmer. Der Glossy Stain duftet dezent, dieser Duft verfliegt aber recht fix. Er trocknet nach dem Aufragen leicht an aber trocknet meine Lippen trotzdem nicht aus und -für mich noch wichtiger- er klebt nicht. Er hält ca. drei Stunden auf meinen Lippen und übersteht trinken problemlos. Nach dem essen muss ich Farbe nachlegen. Mit ca. 30€ liegt der Rouge Pur Couture Vernis Á Lèvres Glossy Stain natürlich im High End-Bereich, ist aber jeden Cent wert!

Iam not a lip gloss kind of girl, not at all. I prefer my lips with matte finish or semi-shiny. But I have found the exception: Rouge Pur Couture Glossy Stain by YSL. It is available in stores for some time now, but when they released the Rebel Nudes collection it hit me for the first time. My color is 107 Rosy Mauve, it was a gift and the perfect color for me! It is a rosewood color with slight mauvish shimmer. It looks very natural on me, so I use it every day by now. YSL's Glossy Stain has a very delicate smell, but there is nothing left of it once applied. After application it dries to a semi-glossy finish but is not drying at all. And thank you YSL, it's not sticky. The stain lasts about three hours on me. I have to reapply it after eating though. It retails for about 30€ and is definitely a high end-product, but it's worth every penny!
