Der OPI Nagellack der Woche: Deutsch You Want Me Baby?

Der Herbst ist da. Er hat Regen und fiesen Wind mitgebracht. Bäh. Neben wärmenden Getränken brauche ich noch mehr Glühstoff. Also sollte es ein Nagellack sein, der wie Herbst im Fläschchen aussieht. Wie Herbtsblätter bei einem Spaziergang im Park. Und Kürbisse. Perfekt dafür ist Deutsch You Want Me Baby? aus der Germany Kollektion vom Herbst/Winter 2012. Es ist ein ultra-schimmerndes Orange mit roten Untertönen. Es glüht förmlich auf den Nägeln. Obwohl die Farbe sehr metallisch ist, war der Auftrag streifenfrei und nach zwei Schichten vollständig deckend. Der Name Deutsch You Want Me Baby? erinnert unwillkürlich an den song Don't You Want Me Baby? und so habe ich ihn beim lackieren die ganze Zeit über im Ohr gehabt. Danke, OPI. Außerdem passt die Farbe doch auch perfekt zur Halloweenzeit, oder?

Fall is here. And with fall there is rain and cold wind. Meh. So I needed something to keep me warm from the inside (more tea!) and something to cheer me up every time I look at it. Deutsch You Want Me Baby? from the Germany collection that has been released in fall/winter 2012 is just the right choice. It's like fall in a bottle. The color of beautiful fall leaves and pumpkins. It's a super shimmery orange with red undertones that just glows from within. Although it has a very metallic look to it, it was easy to apply: Two coats for full opacity and no visible brush strokes. 

And thanks to OPI the song Don't You Want Me Baby? is stuck in my head and I was singing it all the time while painting my nails. Plus: Deutsch You Want Me Baby? isn't exactly a bad choice for Halloween, don't you think so, too?

Der OPI Nagellack der Woche: I Knead Sour-Dough

Zum Nagellack dieser Woche ist nicht viel zu sagen: Ich liebe ihn!! Hätte ich eine Farbe selbst kreieren dürfen, wäre es wohl so etwas wie I Knead Sour-Dough aus der diesjährigen San Francisco Kollektion von Opi. Viele werden es wahrscheinlich als langweiliges Braun abspeisen, aber nein: I Knead Sour-Dough ist ein warmes Braun durchzogen mit rotem und pflaumen-farbenem Schimmer. Es erinnert mich an heiße Schokolade und ist sooo herbstlich. Das war der erste Lack aus der Herbstkollektion, den ich mir an meinem ersten Tag in Hamburg kaufte. Für Farben wie diese liebe ich Opi und der Farbauftrag war wie immer völlig unkompliziert. Zwei Schichten Farbe, Topcoat und fertig ist ein perfekter Herbstlook. Sour-Dough ist übrigens eine Brotspezialität, die in San Francisco besonders gut schmecken soll. Sollte ich mal probieren.

There is not much to say about this week's color: I'm madly in love. If OPI asked me to create a color, it would probably be something like I Knead Sour-Dough from this year's San Francisco collection. I Knead Sour-Dough is decribed by Opi as a warm toasty brown, but it is more than that: It has red and plum colored shimmer in it an reminds me of hot chocolate on a fall day. This was the first polish I bought from this collection on my first day in Hamburg. I just love OPI for colors like I Knead Sour-Dough. Just two coats plus top coat and you are ready to enjoy it's awesomeness. By the way: Sour-Dough is a special kind of bread that San Francisco is world famous for. Have to try that one day.

GLOSSYBOX OKTOBER 2013

Da habe ich es so eben geschafft die Boxen aus den Monaten August und September vorzustellen, und schon ist es Zeit für die Oktoberbox.
Das Thema des Monats ist Balance Me, die Produkte sollen in der Herbstzeit entspannen und verwöhnen (wie entspanne ich denn mit einem silbernen Eyeliner..?). Aber seht selbst:

BALANCE ME - SHINE ON TINTED LIP SALVE SUPER SOFT BEIGE
Riecht nach Minze, was ich mag, aber ich bin eigentlich kein Typ für Lipgloss. Mit einer großen Ausnahme (post schon in Planung). Die Farbe ist okay, sehr alltagsstauglich. Komisch finde ich, dass die Tube nicht komplett gefüllt ist. Das obere Ende des Glosses ist einfach leer.

BELLAPIERRE COSMETICS - BELLAPIERRE MINERAL BLUSH DESERT ROSE
Ein Mineralblush mit LSF 15 in einem Pfirsichton. Es könnte ein bisschen weniger Goldschimmer vertragen, aber sonst mag ichs.

GREAT LENGTHS - DAILY MOISTURE SHAMPOO
Glossybox nennt es ein "Wunder-Shampoo", dass dem Haar Volumen, Glanz und Geschmeidigkeit verleihen soll. Ich wusste von Great Lenghts bislang nur, dass sie mit Haarverlängerungen arbeiten. Handelt es sich hier um ein Shampoo für Extensions?

LCN - SILVER CHROME EYELINER
Der Eyeliner lässt sich gut auftragen und ist schön weich und gut pigmentiert. Allerdings ist die Farbe eher schwierig.

NAOBAY - OXYGENATING CREAM MOISTURIZER
Pflanzenextrakte und pflanzliche Öle sollen den Säureschutzmantel der Haut unterstützen und sie mit Feuchtigkeit versorgen. Von der Farbe her erinnert sie mich an Sonnencreme, riecht aber neutral.

Außerdem war wie immer das Glossymag enthalten, sowie ein paar Flyer und als Goodie zwei Pröbchen der Egyptian Magic All Purpose Skin Cream. Sie mag ja Wunder bewirken, aber die Aufmachung erinnert mich einfach nur an Produkte, die sonst im Teleshoppingkanal verkauft werden.


Fazit: Puuhh. Also so richtig umgehauen hat mich rückwirkend gar keine Box der letzten Monate. Mal hier oder da ein kleines Highlight, aber vor Begeisterung bin ich leider nicht von Stuhl gekippt. Ich bin gespannt zu sehen, was noch hätte "drin sein können", aber auf lange Sicht werden wir wohl keine Freunde mehr, die Glossybox und ich.

New in: Beauty stuff

Kann man jemals genug Beautykram haben? Natürlich nicht. Besonders wenn man auch noch so großartige Dinge geschenkt bekommt, wie ich sie hier in diesem post vorstelle.

Finally! They are mine! Eos lip balm. I think I will write a review on them soon, because they are just great. Thanks to Bibi and Irina I now have two of these little balls. Left is summer fruit and right is pomegranate raspberry. So so good.

Biotherm's Biosource tonic lotion is a classic. Right now it is available in a smaller, limited edition packaging. It contains 125ml, instead of the regular 200ml bottle. Great size if you want to test it before you get the full size. I like that it makes my skin soft and refreshes it. I found this at my local Douglas.

Sometimes a primer comes in handy, though I would recommend not using it everyday, because the silicones most primers contain may not exactly be the healthiest thing you can do for your skin. But from time to time it's nice to use a primer: your make up lasts longer and your skin appears to be very smooth. Benefit's the Porefessional is the best primer I have tested so far. So if you want to splurge get this (Smashbox is also an expert when it comes to primers).

MAC'S Tropical Taboo collection was a hit this summer. This beauty right here was one of the Mineralize Skinfinishes out of the collection. This color is called Adored and it's a peachy coral with champagne shimmer. I like to dust a little over my cheekbones for a nice glow. I'm not sure if I should write a review on this since it was limited and is no longer available. This was a gift, a pretty nice one.

Yes, it's NARS! But nope, this is not Orgasm. This is Deep Throat. It is soooo pretty. I mean look at it. I asked Bibi to get me this in Seattle and only in case of total unavailability to bring Orgasm. I believe that there a tons of reviews on all blushes NARS ever made. So there is not much left to say: They are great. Great pigmentation, great colors, crazy names. Every blush junkie should own one. At least one. Or all.

I can shop beauty stuff at any place. Even at H&M and surprisingly these two products are not bad at all. The Liquid Eyeliner could have a thinner tip, but performs okay. The Eyebrow Pencil in Light Brown is really a bargain (it was 2€ I think). Although I prefer powder for my eyebrows, it's good to fill in some spare areas with a pencil sometimes. And the shade is a good match for my natural brow color.

My boyfriend is the best. Seriously. I just mentioned this once. I was all excited that Marc Jacobs has released a new yummy scent and that the design is so freakin' cute and to be honest: This is girl's stuff. Is there any man on earth who likes to listen to this kind of talk? I didn`t think so. I was wrong. My boyfriend paid attention (he always does) and so Honey ended up being one of my fabulous birthday gifts.

                         The fragrance came with a tiny rollerball, very handy to have it in a purse.

 And there was this cute pouch in the cutest polka dot design, too.

This was another gift I received lately. Jour d'Hermés. The day I discovered this fragrance I had a terrible headache and still could stand the scent. Good sign. Normally I'm not that much into Hermés fragrances, but this is phenomenal. It's fresh, but it's also sweet. Where have you been all my life?

Talbot Runhof for Artdeco beauty meets fashion Kollektion: Blush Couture

Kooperationen mit Designern sind nicht nur in Sachen Mode beliebt. Manche Designer launchen gleich eigene Kosmetiklinien, so wie Michael Kors oder Marc Jacobs, andere verpflichten sich nur für eine Kollektion. So hat das deutsche Designduo Talbot Runhof zusammen mit Artdeco eine 28-teilige Make up-Kollektion unter dem Motto "beauty meets fashion" herausgebracht. Die Produktpalette umfasst alles für einen gelungenen Look von den Augen über die Lippen bis in die Fingerspitzen.

Da ich ein bekennender Rouge-Junkie bin, war natürlich besonders das Rouge mehr als nur einen Blick wert. Nicht nur das Design des Blush Couture ist hübsch, auch das Rouge selbst ist zauberhaft. Der Mix aus Blumen- und Karomuster spiegelt sich auch im Produkt selbst wider, da dieses Muster in das Puder geprägt ist. 

Das Rouge besteht aus drei Nuancen, die ich als verschieden helle und dunkle Rosè- und Rosenholztöne beschreiben würde. Die mittlere Nuance schimmert leicht, es ist aber mehr ein "Glow" als echter Schimmer. 

Die Töne sehen sowohl einzeln, als auch zusammen aufgetragen, toll aus. Der Teint wirkt einfach frisch und nicht zu überschminkt. Die Pigmentierung ist gut, aber nicht zu stark, so dass ein Schichten des Puders problemlos möglich ist. 

Mit knapp 20€ ist das Blush Couture von Artdeco vielleicht kein Schnäppchen, aber als Highlight dieser Kollektion und vorallem als Beautyjunkie sollte man es unbedingt in Betracht ziehen! 

Not only in fashion business collaborations are very fashionable, but also when it comes to beauty some designers like to put their name on it. Some even create a whole line, thinking about Michael Kors or Marc Jacobs. German Designers Talbot Runhof have teamed up with Artdeco to create a 28-piece make up collection named "beauty meets fashion". It consists of eyeshadows, lipsticks, nail polishes and a beautiful blush. The blush couture is a must for every blush junkie. 

The patterns of the packaging are a mix of flowers and plaid and so is the same pattern stamped in the powder blush. The blush consists of three colors, which are lighter and darker shades of tulipwood and a dusty rose. The color in the middle is a bit shimmery, but it's more of a glow than actual shimmer. 

You can wear the colors separately or mix them, they always look gorgeous and give you a fresh face-look. They are very well pigmented, but you really need a heavy hand to overdo it. 

The blush couture retails for 20€, maybe not the cheapest blush out there, but you should really take a closer look at it.

Der OPI Nagellack der Woche: Make Him Mine liquid sand

Ich habe ja bereits erwähnt, dass ich eine eher speziellere Beziehung zu Mariah Carey habe (hier nochmal zu lesen) und deswegen war ich nach dieser Nachricht auch wieder völlig aus dem Häuschen (obwohl ich mittlerweile einsehe, dass ich nicht singen kann wie Mariah und ihr auch nicht ähnlich sehe): Eine 18-teilige Mariah Carey Holiday 2013 Kollektion. Yaaaay! Sofort wurden die Pressebilder gesucht und Lieblingsfarben herausgepickt. Da es aber immer eine ganze Weile dauern kann, bis die Lacke in Deutschland erhältlich sind, war Bibi so lieb und hat mir gleich ein paar aus den Staaten mitgebracht.

Die Kollektion besteht aus zwölf Creme-, Schimmer und Glitterlacken und sechs liquid sand Lacken. Die Farben sind fast alle ziemlich weihnachtlich und stimmen perfekt auf die kalte Jahreszeit ein - große Überraschung bei einer Holiday Kollektion - (ein blauer liquid sand Lack fällt allerdings total aus der Reihe) . 

Der OPI Nagellack der Woche ist einer der liquid sand Nagellacke und wie ich finde, der schönste der sechs Sandlacke: Make Him Mine ist ein Rosègold mit silbernen, runden Glitzerpartikeln. Er deckt nach einer Schicht schon perfekt und trocknet ratzfatz. Mit Rosègold kann man mich eigentlich immer um den Finger wickeln. Nur leider schmeichelt der Ton mir überhaupt nicht. Meine Hände wirken damit wie tot, blass und zombiemäßig. Vielleicht sollte ich Make Him Mine nochmal an Halloween aufpinseln :)

Ansonsten habe ich mich eher auf die dunkleren Farben und natürlich auch auf die Rottöne der Kollektion konzentriert. Bald hier auf dem Blog zu sehen! 

I already mentioned that I have a special relationship with Mariah Carey (read about it here) and although by now I have realized that I can't sing at all and that I don't look like her at all, the news about a Mariah Carey Holiday 2013 collection consisting of 18 new colors got me super excited! Almost immediately I picked out my favorite colors and asked Bibi to look out for them in Seattle, because it will take ages to get them here in Germany. So she did and found all the colors I wanted. The collection includes twelve colors with a creme finish and shimmery and glittery finishes and six liquid sands. One of the liquid sands and by far the prettiest is Make Him Mine. It's a rose color with silver flecks. You can reach good opacity with one coat and it dries within minutes. Man I love rose nail polishes, but unfortunately they are so unflattering for my skin tone. My hands look dead and zombie-like in a way. Maybe I should consider Make Him Mine my Halloween nail polish :) 

Nearly all colors of the Holiday collection are very much inspired by christmas and winter season - surprisingly- (there is a blue liquid sand though that looks a bit odd) and so I picked out some red and darker polishes, just the way I like my nail polishes. RIRI HEARTS MAC FALL COLLECTION 2013: BAD GIRL GONE GOOD BLUSH

Zum dritten Mal nun hat MAC sich mit Rihanna zusammengeschlossen, um eine neue limitierte Herbstkollektion zu entwickeln. Beim dritten Anlauf finde ich das Design besonders gelungen. Alle Produkte sind in einem hellen Rosèton gehalten und glänzen zum Teil metallisch. Alle Teile der Kollektion tragen auch die charakteristische R bzw Riri-Signatur.

Als ich die ersten Pressebilder auf diversen Blogs sah, stach mir neben dem allseits beliebten Riri Woo Lippenstift (den ich auch endlich besitze, Review folgt) gleich das Blush ins Auge. Bad Girl Gone Good heißt das Rouge aus dieser Kollektion und ist ein wunderschöner brauner Pfirsichton mit Untertönen in Rosé. MAC nennt es ein warmes Kupfer. Es ist ein eher gedeckter Ton mit Satin Finish. Er schimmert also nicht zu sehr, ist aber auch nicht völlig matt. Die Pigmentierung von Bad Girl Gone Good ist, wie von MAC gewohnt, ziemlich gut. Da ich mir dachte, dass ich wahrscheinlich kein Glück haben werde und das Rouge hier in Deutschland nicht bekomme - oder schlimmer: den release total verpenne, war meine Mitbewohnerin Bibi so lieb und hat es mir in den Staaten bei Nordstrom besorgt (Daaanke!). 

In Deutschland hat das Rouge in etwa 25€ gekostet, in den USA hat man es für ca. 23$ bekommen. 

Ich finde die Farbe großartig und obwohl ich eher zu den helleren Hauttypen gehöre, sieht das Bad Girl Gone Good Rouge an mir nicht zu bräunlich aus. 

Von mir gibt's fünf Sterne für Farbe, Design und Haltbarkeit. 

For the third time now MAC has collaborated with Rihanna to create a new limited fall edition. This time I'm really into the packaging. All products have a rose gold partly metallic packaging and of course they all have the typical R or Riri signature on it.
The minute I saw the press release on some blogs I fell in love with the blush. Of course besides that I love the Riri Woo lipstick and finally got my hands on it (review coming soon).
The Bad Girl Gone Good powder blush is a pretty muted, peachy copper with rosy and brown undertones. MAC calls it a shade of warm copper. It has a satin finish, so it's not too shimmery, but also not matte. As you may expect it from MAC, the pigmentation is good.
My roommate Bibi bought me this blush at Nordstrom (thank you Bibi!), because I knew that it would be sold out in Germany pretty soon.
In Germany it retailed for 25€, in stores around the US it was about 23$.

I love the color and although I have a fairer skin tone, the Bad Girl Gone Good powder blush doesn't look too dark on me.
