OPI Neon Revolution Miniset

Der Sommer ist endgültig vorbei. Es ist an der Zeit, die Boots und Schals herauszukramen und luftige Kleidchen zu verstauen. Trotzdem kann man genau jetzt prima in Sommererinnerungen schwelgen (dabei unbedingt einen Pumpkin Spice Latte von Starbucks trinken). Ich tue das, in dem ich heute ein paar richtige Sommernagellacke aus der Mottenkiste krame. Ich habe absolut nichts gegen Knallfarben, ein bisschen Neon schadet nie. Aber da ich eher ein Herbsttyp bin und ich dunkle, schimmernde Farben einfach lieber mag, bin ich an dem Neon Revolution-Miniset von OPI ewig herumgeschlichen. So lange, bis Ania es mir unter die Nase hielt. Ich bin leider nicht mehr dazu gekommen die Farben zu tragen, weil ich schon früh wieder auf dunklere Nuancen gepolt war, aber meine Swatchsticks können immerhin schon einen Eindruck von diesen Knallern geben.

Das Set enthält vier Neonfarben, einen weißen Basecoat und einen Topcoat. 

Der weiße Basecoat ist auf jeden Fall zu empfehlen, da die Farben durch ihn erst richtig zur Geltung kommen. Die Lacke sind zwar recht gut pigmentiert, brauchen aber zwei wirklich großzügige oder besser noch drei ordentliche Schichten, um wirklich gleichmäßig und deckend zu sein (besonderes Problemkind: der blaue Lack).
Das Set enthält die Farben: Don't Say It - Yellow It!, ein kräftiges Gelb, ein wenig Eidottergelb; The Time Is Pow!, ein knalliges Orange ohne Gelbstich; Pink Outside the Box, Neonpink und Blue It Out of Proportion, ein intensives, mittleres Blau.

Summer is over, for good. Now it's time to get your boots and scarves and put away your lovely summer dresses. So it's the right time to reminisce about your memories of summer (pumpkin spice latte for that purpose?). To me summer is all about bright colors. I like the bright ones, but when it comes to fall colors, I'm totally in. So it happened, that I let the OPI Neon Revolution mini set pass me a couple times until my friend Ania put it under my very nose. I couldn't menage to actually wear these, because I switched to fall colors really early. But I guess that my swatchsticks can give you an impression of how the colors will look on your nails.

The set includes four colors, one bottle of white base coat and a top coat. I definitively recommend the white base coat that goes under the neon polish. It really makes the colors pop! The pigmentation of these were nice, but you really need two thick or better three generous coats to even everything out, because some of the polishes (talking to you, blue one) tend to be very patchy and streaky.
The colors of the mini set are: Don't Say It - Yellow It!, a neon yellow with a little bit of egg yolk in it; The Time Is Pow! a wow orange neon; Pink Outside the Box, a hot, bright pink and Blue It Out of Proportion, a bold cobalt blue.

Stuff I love: Cookies!

Mal ehrlich: Was gibt es besseres als Kekse? Jeder liebt Kekse und Keksteig und Kekse. Also haben Bibi und ich uns zum late night baking in die Küche verzogen und haben ein paar unfassbar gute Cookies gebacken. Da wir eine unbändige Liebe zu Erdnussbutter und weißer Schokolade teilen, haben wir beide Vorlieben vereint und haben peanut butter and white chocolate chip cookies gebacken. Viel leckerer kann es eigentlich nicht werden.

Klingt gut? Ist auch noch einfach! Hier unser Rezept für ca. 35 relativ große cookies: 

250g Mehl

2 TL Backpulver

100g ungesalzene Erdnüsse

100g weiche Butter

100g Erdnussbutter (creamy oder crunchy)

150g Zucker

2 Eier

2 Päckchen Vanillezucker (oder Vanilleschoten)

Weiße Schokolade z.B. in Form von Eszet Schnitten (je nach Belieben, wir haben 5 Schnitten verwendet)

Und so gehts: 

Den Backofen auf 200°C vorheizen. 

Die Butter zusammen mit den Eiern, der Erdnussbutter, Zucker  und dem Vanillezucker schaumig rühren. 

Backpulver und Mehl mischen und nach und nach unterrühren. 

Die Erdnüsse werden grob gehackt, so wie die Schokolade und werden dann dazu gemischt.

Das Ganze zu einem festen Teig kneten und kleine Kugeln formen, diese auf einem mit Backpapier ausgelegten Blech "platt drücken" (genügend Abstand lassen) und ca. 10 Min auf der mittleren Schiene backen.   

Und yummy!

Let's face it: Is there anything better than cookies? I don't think so. Everybody loves cookies and cookie dough and of course cookies. So Bibi and I decided to lock ourselves into the kitchen and do some late night baking. We both have a thing for peanut butter and white chocolate and so the best possible thing to do was to bake peanut butter and white chocolate cookies. Actually it can't get any better.

Got your mouth watering? Here's what you need for our recipe:

250g flour

2 tsp baking soda

100g unsalted peanuts

100g soft butter

100g peanut butter (creamy or crunchy)

150g sugar

2 whole eggs

2 packages of vanilla sugar (or vanilla extract)

white chocolate (what ever kind and how much of it you like, we used 5 pieces of "Eszet")

And this is how you do it (about 35 not so small cookies):

Preheat the oven at (392F) 200°C .

Stir together butter, eggs, peanut butter, sugar and vanilla sugar. 

Mix flour and baking soda and stir it together with the dough.

Chop peanuts and chocolate into chunky pieces and mix into dough.

Then mix well by hand until you get a stiff dough.

Shape little balls out of the dough, place them on baking pans lined with parchment paper and flatten the balls (leave some space between them).

Bake them for 10 minutes and then enjoy!

Der OPI Nagellack der Woche: Embarca-Dare Ya!

Neue Woche, neue Farbe aus der San Francisco Kollektion. Bei Embarca-Dare Ya! zeigt Opi mal wieder, was sie am besten können: wunderschöne, schimmernde Farben, die so eine Tiefe besitzen, wie ich sie sonst selten gesehen habe. Embarca-Dare Ya! ist ein dunkles, schimmerndes Pink. Im Fläschchen sieht man auch noch goldenen Schimmer, der einen Duochrome-Effekt hat. Dieser überträgt sich nur leider nicht auf die Nägel. Die Deckkraft ist ziemlich gut, nur sollte man etwas zügiger und gleichmäßig arbeiten, sonst kann der Lack etwas streifig erscheinen.


New week, new color from Opi‘s San Francisco collection. With Embarca-Dare Ya! Opi showed what they can do best: beautiful, shimmering colors that have a certain depth and a glow that comes from within. Embarca-Dare Ya! is a shimmering magenta. You can see golden shimmer in the bottle as well, but that duo chrome effect isn't visible on the nail. The nail polish is pretty opaque, but you should apply it with a quick, but careful hand so that there are no visible brush strokes.

Stoffmarkt Holland in Hamburg

Gestern nahm mich meine Mitbewohnerin mit zum Stoffmarkt Holland in Hamburg. Ich kann zwar  weder nähen, noch stricken, noch häkeln oder besonders hübsch zeichnen (Entwürfe schon gar nicht), aber meine Mitbewohnerin Bibi kann alles oben genannte ganz fabelhaft.
Anlässlich meines Geburtstages letzte Woche, nähte sie mir ein süßes Kosmetiktäschchen im Eulendesign. Und weil ich davon nicht genug bekommen kann, durfte gleich ein neuer Kosmetiktäschchen-Stoff mit.

Yesterday my roommate took me to a market for fabrics called Stoffmarkt Holland in Hamburg. I can't neither sew nor knit nor draw (especially nothing that could count as any form of design), but my roommate Bibi can do all these things mentioned above and she does them pretty fabulous.
For my birthday last week she sew me a little bag for my cosmetics. And because I can never have enough cosmetic bags, we picked another fabric at the market for a new one.

Der OPI Nagellack der Woche: I Saw...U Saw...We Saw...Warsaw

Obwohl ich Krakau lieber mag als Warschau, gab es für mich kein Vorbeikommen an diesem Nagellack: I Saw...U Saw...We Saw...Warsaw aus der Euro Centrale Kollektion 2013 hat nicht nur einen großartigen Namen (In der Top 10 der Opinamen), sondern ist auch ein fabelhafter Herbstton (obwohl er aus der Frühjahr/Sommer Kollektion stammt). Es ist ein cremiges, deckendes Denimblau.

Bei kurzen Nägeln kommt man mit einer Schicht Farblack davon. Wie immer habe ich nicht auf Topcoat verzichtet, um die Farbe so lange wie möglich zu tragen.

Although I prefer Cracow over Warsaw, there was no way I could have left this nail polish at the store: I Saw...U Saw...We Saw...Warsaw from this year's Euro Centrale Collection not only has one of the coolest names out there (top 10 Opi names), but is also a gorgeous color for fall (as part of a spring/summer collection you know). It's a nice, creamy and opaque dark denim blue, I would say.

If you have short nails you can get away with one coat. I used two and some top coat as always. I Saw...Now U Saw!

Korres Milk Proteins Foaming Cream Cleanser

Ich bin zwar noch ganz glücklich mit meiner Lancaster Gesichtspflege-Routine (hier zu sehen), aber als ich die Chance hatte, den Milk Proteins Foaming Cream Cleanser von Korres zu testen, ergriff ich sie nur zu gerne.

Der Milk Proteins Foaming Cream Cleanser ist seifenfrei und enthält Milchproteine die reich an Aminosären und Peptiden sind. Die enthaltene Laktose soll neben Proteinen aus Amaranth und Reis für eine reine, hydratisierte Haut sorgen. Der Cleanser besteht zu 86.4% aus natürlichen Inhaltsstoffen und ist dabei frei von Silikonen, Parabenen und Phtalaten. Die "Reinigungscreme" kann täglich verwendet werden, weil sie die Haut nicht austrocknen und Make up-Reste zuverlässig entfernen soll.

So weit, so gut. Die Beschreibung klingt fast zu gut, um wahr zu sein (habe ich schon erwähnt, dass die Verpackung recyclebar ist?). Aber wie bewährt sich der Cleanser im Test?

Ich bin vielleicht schon ein wenig voreingenommen, weil ich bereits mehrere Korres Shampoos und Duschgele hatte und sie allesamt toll fand. Auch der cleanser enttäuscht nicht. 

Der Milk Proteins Foaming Cream Cleanser ist milchig weiß und in der Tat sehr cremig. Massiert man ihn allerdings mit Wasser in die Haut ein, beginnt er zu schäumen. So wie es die "cream to foam"-Formulierung prophezeit. Der Schaum ist eher delikat und riecht sehr dezent. Anschließend fühlt sich die Haut prall und weich an. Natürlich muss ich mein Gesicht nach der Reinigung eincremen, aber meine trockenen Stellen werden nicht zusätzlich ausgetrocknet.

Der Korres Milk Proteins Foaming Cream Cleanser eignet sich aufgrund der natürlichen Inhaltsstoffe bestens für empfindliche und trockene Haut. Die enthaltenen Milchproteine geben ihr bestes, um die Reinigung so schonend wie möglich zu machen. 

Erhältlich ist er über diverse online shops wie green glam oder hagelshop. Er kostet je nach shop ca. 22€.

Nachkaufwahrscheinlichkeit: 100%!

Although I‘m still happy with my daily face cleansing routine including products from Lancaster (read all about it here), I couldn't miss the chance to try out the Milk Proteins Foaming Cream Cleanser by Korres. 

The Milk Proteins Foaming Cream Cleanser is soap-free and contains milk proteins that are full of aminoacides. Lactose and vegetable proteins from amaranth and rice that refresh the skin and moisturize it.

The  cleanser consists of 86.4% natural content and has no parabens, phtalates or silicones. It is pH-neutral so it can be used on a daily basis without leaving your skin dry.

Sounds too good to be true (did I mention that the packaging is recyclable?), but is it really that good?

I may be a little bit biased, because I had some shampoos and shower gels by Korres and loved them all. And the cleanser isn't disappointing as well.

The Milk Proteins Foaming Cream Cleanser has a milky white color and is very creamy. Rubbing it into wet skin you will see the foam ( just like the "cream to foam"-formula told you it would happen!). The foam is very gentle, delicate and has a fresh smell to it. After cleansing the skin feels soft and hydrated.  Of course I have to put on some moisturizer afterwards, but I don't have to use extra moisturizer for the very dry areas of my face.

I would recommend the Milk Proteins Foaming Cream Cleanser by Korres for rather dry and sensitive skin types, because the natural ingridients should cause no irritation.

Der OPI Nagellack der Woche: First Date at the Golden Gate

Und wieder etwas aus der San Francisco Herbstkollektion. Die Inspiration für First Date at the Golden Gate soll natürlich die Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco sein. Leider kann ich zum tatsächlichen Farbton der Sehenswürdigkeit nichts sagen, weil ich sie live noch nie gesehen habe (und wie realistisch Fotos sind, ist auch so eine Sache..) Aber irgendwann wird die Reise hoffentlich nach San Francisco gehen.

Die Farbe First Date at the Golden Gate, die wie auch Peace&Love&OPI im Little Bits of Chic-Miniset  enthalten ist, hat sich sofort in mein kleines Nagellackherz geschlichen. Ein dunkles Rot wie es  in meinem (Favoriten-)Buche steht: Cremig, deckend (das Ergebnis nach einer Schicht war schon wow, nach zwei Schichten perfekt) und durch den leicht braunen Unterton sooo herbstlich. Es erinnert mich ein wenig an alte Backsteinhäuser. First Date at the Golden Gate ist einer der Rottöne, der einfach immer elegant wirkt.

P.S Bitte beachtet nicht das unsaubere Ausfransen des Nagellacks oberhalb meiner Nagelhaut. Meine Hände sind durch zu häufiges Händewaschen unfassbar trocken. Und dann passiert sowas. Unschön.

And here we go with another color from the San Francisco fall/ winter collection: The inspiration behind First Date at the Golden Gate which is also part of the Little Bits of chic mini set, just like Peace&Love&OPI, is obviously the Golden Gate Bridge. I have never been to San Francisco, so I can't tell you about the true color of the bridge (and how trustworthy are pictures?), but I hope that I will get the chance to see it in real life one day. 

First Date at the Golden Gate immideatly found its way into my nail polish-heart: It is a creamy, opaque (one coat was wow, and after two coats you're done)  dark red with some brown undertones. To me it also represents fall in a bottle and besides that First Date at the Golden Gate is also that kind of red, that always looks elegant and classy.

P.S. Please don't pay any attention to my cuticles and the way the nail polish is frazzled above them. I wash my hands too often and as a consequence my hands and cuticles tend to be very dry and make my nail polish look not so pretty.

Der OPI Nagellack der Woche: Peace&Love&OPI

Endlich trage ich einen der neuen Opi Lacke aus der diesjährigen Herbst/Winter San Francisco Kollektion. Peace&Love&OPI ist der Star des Little Bits of Chic Minisets (obwohl First Date at the Golden Gate und Muir Muir on the Wall meinen Geschmack auch zu 100% treffen). Peace&Love&OPI ist ein Lack mit multichrome Effekt, die Farben changieren zwischen Grün, Aubergine und metallischem Grau. Peace&Love&OPI ist auf jeden fall ein Hingucker. Er benötigt zwei Schichten um vollständig zu decken, weil die erste Schicht etwas streifig und fleckig wird. Außerdem sollte man schnell arbeiten, da der Lack recht schnell trocknet. Das Ganze dann noch mit Topcoat versiegeln und fertig.

P.S: Die Promobilder für die diesjährige Holiday collection sind bereits im Umlauf. Es wird wieder eine Mariah Carey Kollektion und was soll ich sagen? Abgesehen davon auch noch genau meine Beuteschema-Farben. 

Finally I got my hands on Opi's 2013 fall/winter San Francisco Collection. Of course I had to take the adorable Little Bits of Chic miniset home with me. Peace&Love&OPI is the star of this kit (although First Date at the Golden Gate and Muir Muir on the Wall hit me right where it hurts, too). Peace&Love&OPI is a  multichrome nail polish that shifts from green to eggplant to a metallic kind of grey. It's a stunner and the colors are very hard to capture in photos. I needed two coats for full opacity, because the first coat turned out patchy and streaky and is rather fast drying. Some top coat for shine and longevity and you're done. 

P.S: I have already seen pictures of Opi's holiday collection for 2013. Mariah Carey has done it again and what can I say? Most of them will be totally my colors!
