Clinique Age Defense BB Cream SPF 30

Vor einiger Zeit kaufte ich mir die Clinique Age Defense BB Cream SPF 30 in der Reisegröße (15ml) bei Douglas. Gleich vorab: Ich bin dem BB Trend etwas hinterher, da es ja bereits unzählige CC Creams gibt. Irgendwie habe ich nie eine Creme gefunden, die mich wirklich überzeugte. So leider auch diese hier nicht.


Im Onlineshop von Douglas findet sich folgende Beschreibung:

Die BB Cream ist ein absolutes Multitalent. Sie fungiert als Concealer und Primer und gibt der Haut nahezu alles, was sie braucht: Schutz, Pflege, Schönheit. Die ölfreie Formel schützt vor frühzeitiger Hautalterung und Umwelteinflüssen und sorgt zudem für eine optische Optimierung des Teints. Die Tönung passt sich optimal dem eigenen Hautton an. Feine Linien und Fältchen wirken minimiert. Die Haut wird beruhigt und durchfeuchtet. Dadurch sieht sie sichtbar glatter und jugendlicher aus. Das Feuchtigkeitslevel der Haut wird stabilisiert, während Öl und Glanz kontrolliert werden. Die Haltbarkeit der Foundation wird deutlich verbessert. Für jeden Hauttyp geeignet, selbst für empfindliche Haut. 

Die kleine Creme ist der Verpackung des Originalproduktes (40ml) nachempfunden. Der Preis für 40ml liegt bei Douglas bei 29,95€. Die kleine Tube mit 15ml-Inhalt hat 7€ gekostet.
Erhältlich ist die BB Cream in drei Farben, Nr.01-03. Entschieden habe ich mich für die Farbe Nr.02. Ich habe zwar relativ helle Haut, aber der Farbton Nr. 01 war deutlich zu hell. Nr.02 erschien mir erst zu dunkel, im Gesicht aufgetragen hat er mich allerdings wahnsinnig blass gemacht. Ja, noch blasser als sonst (ohne getönte Tagescreme und Bronzer. Obwohl nein. Inklusive getönte Tagescreme und Bronzer).
Die Creme ist komplett geruchsneutral. Die Konsistenz ist nicht zu fest und nicht zu flüssig und lässt sich gut verteilen. Im Gesicht betont sie keine trockenen Stellen und glättet die Haut auch minimal. So angenehm sich die Textur auch verteilen lässt, so unangenehm liegt sie danach auf der Haut. Vielleicht ist es eine sehr subjektive Wahrnehmung, aber ich fühle die "schwere Cremeschicht" den ganzen Tag über im Gesicht. Es fühlt sich an wie eine Maske. Und sieht bei mir anscheinend auch so aus. Meiner Umwelt ist die neue Optik auch aufgefallen: "Du siehst anders aus. So blass und fahl. Bist du krank?"Nein, eigentlich nicht.
Den hohen Lichtschutzfaktor finde ich natürlich super, aber der maskenhafte Effekt ist einfach nicht mein Ding.

Some time ago I purchased Clinique's Age Defense BB Cream SPF 30 in a travel size (15ml/0.5OZ) at my local Douglas. BB Creams have been around for quite a long time now and Iam aware of the fact that there are already CC Creams, but I haven't found the perfect BB cream for me yet. And I'm still searching.

Clinique's homepage offers this description for the BB Cream: Age defense BB (Beauty Balm) Cream offers SPF protection, antioxidants for prevention, plus enough coverage to banish imperfections. The perfect primer, too.

The original sized cream contains 40ml/1.4OZ and retails for 29,95€ at Douglas. The travel size costs about 7€.
In Germany there are three shades available Nr.01-03 (there are four in the states). I chose Nr.02, which at first appeared a tad too dark for my skin color, but shade Nr.01 was way too pale. Unfortunately even Nr.02 turned out to be too pale for me. I mean, I tend to look dead without tinted moisturizer and bronzer, well sometimes even with tinted moisturizer and bronzer, but this cream really did my skintone no good.
Clinique's BB Cream is fragrance free. It has a rather soft texture that blends well. It doesn't emphasize pores or dry skin areas and has a skin smoothing effect. What is really frustratig me is that this BB cream feels heavy and uncomfortable on the skin. It nearly feels like a mask and according to the people around me it does look like a mask and makes my face look unhealthy and pale. No, thanks.
I like the SPF 30, but the way Clinique's BB Cream feels and looks on my skin is not satisfying at all. So the hunt for the ultimate BB cream goes on...

KRYOLAN - LIP N' CHEEK
Die "wasserabweisende Creme" kann als Rouge und Liptint verwendet werden. Ich habe sie in der Farbe Petunia erhalten. Gefällt mir. Nur mit der Dosierung muss man aufpassen. Aussehen wie der Joker ist im Alltag eher so geht so cool.

MARIA GALLAND - 192 SOIN PROTECTEUR VISAGE SPF 6
Sonnencreme für das Gesicht. Teure Sonnencreme für das Gesicht.

MONTBLANC - LEGEND POUR FEMME
Eine hübsche Parfum-Miniatur. Der Duft ist etwas schwer für mein Empfinden und eher winterlich, aber tragbar. Sehr sogar.


RITUALS COSMETICS - YOGI FLOW DUSCHSCHAUM
Mega nice. Süßmandelöl und indische Rose sollen die Haut pflegen. Primär duften sie himmlisch. Und die Textur ist auch toll. Wenn sogar mein boyfriend und großer Bruder gleich zweimal an der Verpackung riechen, dann kann ich nicht falsch liegen.

On top gab es noch die aktuelle Ausgabe der Grazia (nicht die special edition mit Catrice Mascara).


Und die Moral von der Geschicht? Zu den schlechtesten Boxen zählt diese hier nicht.

Der OPI Nagellack der Woche: Suzi Says Feng Shui

Eigentlich kann ich mit Feng Shui nicht so viel anfangen, aber mit Suzi Says Feng Shui harmoniere ich ganz wunderbar. Dieses mittlere, knallige aber auch rauchige Blau aus der Hong Kong Kollektion aus dem Frühjahr 2010 ist ein Volltreffer. Passt zu vielen Outfits (besonders zu Jeans) und hat einen hübschen Hinguckereffekt.

Zwei Schichten und Topcoat machens perfekt. Das Ergebnis soll ja harmonisch werden. 

I have to admit that I'm not that much into Feng Shui, but there is definitely some harmony between Suzi Says Feng Shui and me. It's a medium, bright but smokey blue. Suzi Says Feng Shui is part of the Hong Kong collection that has been released in spring/summer 2010. 

I wear it with all kinds of outfits that include denim and it adds a nice pop of color to them. 

Two coats and topcoat are just fine for perfect harmony.

Burt's Bees Radiance Night Cream

Nachtcreme. Ein oft umstrittenes Thema. Für die einen ist sie unverzichtbar, für die anderen ein Fremdwort. Ich habe tatsächlich schon mal Sätze wie diese gehört: "Es gibt Nachtcremes? Braucht man das denn?"

Gute Frage. Ich bin der Meinung, dass 'man das braucht'. Ich zumindest. Oder ich glaube das zu brauchen. Jedenfalls fühle ich mich wesentlich besser, wenn meine Haut über Nacht von einer speziellen Pflege verwöhnt wird. 

Im Moment teste ich die Radiance Night Cream von Burt's Bees. Burt's Bees kannte ich bislang nur wegen der tollen tinted lip balms, also war ich neugierig auf die Gesichtspflegelinie der Marke. 

Die Radiance Night Cream (55g) kommt in einem süßen, sehr nostalgischen Tiegel daher. Auch der Umkarton ist im selben Stil gestaltet. 

Die Creme enthält 98,92% natürliche Wirkstoffe. Zitronen-,  Rosmarin-, Pinienextrakte und Gelee Royal sollen der Haut einen gesunden Glow und Jugendlichkeit verleihen und kleine Fältchen minimieren.
Kurze Anmerkung: Auf der amerikanischen Website ist eine andere Beschreibung zu finden und dort sind es 99% natürliche Inhaltsstoffe, so wie es auf dem Karton vermerkt ist. Siehe unten.

Der Duft ist etwas gewöhnungsbedürftig, nicht unangenehm, aber auch schwer zu beschreiben. Fruchtig-blumig, süß und neutral. 

Die Konsistenz ist etwas reichhaltiger, klebt auch nach dem Auftragen auch kurz auf der Haut, zieht aber relativ schnell fast vollständig ein. 

Preislich variert die Creme zwischen 21,95€ (Parfumdreams) und 23,95€ (Douglas). Ist also eine eher günstigere Alternative, gemessen an ähnlichen Produkten anderer Marken.

Zur Wirkung: Nach dem Aufwachen ist meine Haut wahnsinnig weich und überhaupt nicht trocken. Ich kann nicht zu 100% sagen, ob meine Haut jugendlicher aussieht oder nicht, aber ungeschminkt werde ich für eine 14-jährige gehalten. Klingt gut. Nehm' ich. 

Night Cream. There is a lot of talking going on about night creams. Some can't do without and others don't think it's necessary at all. Just to mention some thoughts on it I've heard: "There is such thing as a night cream? Do I need that?" Good question. I decided that I do need a night cream. Or maybe I just think that I do need it. Actually I somehow feel better using it.

Right now I'm testing Burt's Bees Radiance Night Cream. I have used Burt's Bees tinted lip balm a lot earlier, but besides that I have no experience with their skin care products.

Burt's Bees Radiance Night Cream (55g) comes in a super cute nostalgic jar and packaging.
It consists of 99% natural ingredients like shea butter, bee pollen and royal jelly. These ingredients suppose to moisturize the skin, give it a youthful glow and minimize first wrinkles. (I have no clue why, but the german Burt's Bees website does give another description of the product's ingredients).

I can hardly describe the scent. It's something you need to get used to. Do I smell flowers in there? Is is it a sweet, neutral scent..? I don't know.
The consistency is thick at first and feels a little bit sticky, but really sinks into the skin after a couple minutes.

The price range starts at 21,95€ (Parfumdreams) and ends (probably) somewhere at 23,95€ (Douglas). I think there are night creams which are way more expensive.

Does it work: The morning after using it my skin is super soft and I have no dry areas at all. I can't tell if it gives me this youthful glow, but people say I look like a fourteen year old without make up. Sounds good.

Der OPI Nagellack der Woche: Are We There Yet?

Summer is there yet! Endlich! Also her mit dem Sommer in meinem Kleiderschrank und auf meinen Nägeln. Prädestiniert dafür ist Are We There Yet? aus der Touring America Kollektion, die im Herbst 2011 erschien. Jap, der stammt aus einer Herbstkollektion. Die Farbe ist irgendwas zwischen Koralle, Pfirsich und Orange mit subtilem Schimmer in pink und gold. Die Konsistenz ist ein wenig flüssig, aber zwei Schichten reichen bei mir für volle Deckkraft. Ich finde übrigens, dass die Farbe meiner Haut schmeichelt. Meine Hände sehen richtig lebendig aus :)

Summer is there yet! Finally! So now there are no more excuses: Bring on those summery shades. Are We There Yet? is actually such a perfect summer shade. Can you believe that it was part of a fall collection? It belongs to the Touring America Collection from 2011. I'm not sure how to describe the color: Is it peach, orange or coral? It also has some very subtle pink and gold shimmer in it. Formula wise I found that Are We There Yet? was a little bit watery, but was fine after two coats. And I think it's super flattering on my skintone.  My hands appear less dead than normally :)

The Body Shop: Papaya Love

The Body Shop. Tja was soll ich dazu noch sagen? Eigentlich bin ich bis 2015 mit Body Butter, Lotion und Duschgel versorgt. Eigentlich. Aber die Papaya LE hat mich benebelt mit ihrem Duft und nachdem mein Verstand ausgeschaltet war, trug ich Body Butter und Duschgel fix zur Kasse. Limited Edition ist ja auch nur ein anderer Begriff für: "Kauf mich jetzt oder bereue es für immer!" Schweren Herzens habe ich Passionfruit, Blaubeere und Himbeere liegen lassen. Noch.


The Body Shop. Do I need to comment on my relationship with The Body Shop anymore? The amount of body butter, body lotion and shower gel (I have back-ups and back-back-ups) will already last untill 2015, but when I smelled that sweet Papaya scent it knocked me off my feet. Plus: Its a limited edition. Actually limited edition is just another term for "It's l-i-m-i-t-e-d, buy that stuff! Now!" The summer edition also includes raspberry, blueberry and passionfruit products. I will try to resist.....

Astor Soft Sensation Lipcolor Butter: Hug Me

Es gibt Produkte, die gehyped werden und das zurecht! Darunter ist die Soft Sensation Lipcolor Butter von Astor. Sie verspricht Pflege, Glanz und Farbe in einem. Das Prinzip ist spätestens seit den Chubby Sticks bekannt und die Stiftform ist auch einfach super praktisch. Neulich gabs bei Müller Rabatt (je Stück 5€) auf die Sticks und da habe ich bei der Farbe Hug Me zugeschlagen. Sie ist dezent, aber eben auch echt schön . Ich würde die Farbe als Rosé/Rosenholzton mit Beigeanteil und goldenem Glitzer beschreiben. Auf den Glitzer könnte ich wie immer verzichten, aber ansonsten ist die Farbe wunderbar. Es geht in die my lips but better-Richtung. Die Farbe erinnerte mich gleich an meinen Chubby Stick in Mega Melon, Hug Me ist aber deutlich heller. Das Tragegefühl ist angenehm und trocknet die Lippen nicht aus. Die Haltbarkeit auf den Lippen beträgt in etwa zwei Stunden. Davon werden mit Sicherheit noch mehr bei mir einziehen.

Noch so ein Gedanke: So wie ich es sehe, gibt es nach dem Chubby Stick-Hype nun einen Lipbutter-Hype. Revlon, Astor...wer möchte noch?


There are some products everyone is raving about and in this case I can clearly see why. Astor's Soft Sensation Lipcolor Butter promises color, moisture and shine. Since Clinique released their Chubby Sticks they became super popular and its not only because lipcolor-sticks always come in handy. Some time ago Müller offered a discount (5€ each) and so I picked up the color Hug Me. A nice rosewood color with some beige undertones and fine golden glitter (why glitter?). It's a perfect everyday-color, a good my lips but better kind of color. It instantly reminded me of Clinique's Mega Melon-Chubby Stick, but Hug Me is much lighter. Astor's Lipcolor Butter feels very soft on the lips and leaves them hydrated. It lasts about two hours without eating and drinking. Hug Me will get some company soon.

Something I thought about: Is there a lip butter-hype coming after the Chubby Stick-hype we saw lately..? Revlon, Astor...who's next?

New in: Shoes

Schuhe gehen immer. Immer. Immer. Besonders Ballerinas, Slipper, Turnschuhe, Budapester,  Boots...hauptsache sie sind flach. Deshalb konnte ich bei den süßen Katzenslippern nicht widerstehen (ja..die Designerversion ist bekannt wie ein bunter Hund). Bei den knalligen Espadrilles ebenso wenig. Und die hübschen Sandalen waren in Anbetracht des Bald-Sommers auch ein Muss.

I can always buy shoes. Always, always. Ballet flats, sandals, loafers, sneakers, brogues, boots... as long as they are flat. The moment I laid eyes on these super cute cat-loafers I had to have them. Same thing with these espadrilles. And because summer is really coming, I needed a pair of chic sandals, too.

Maybelline Baby Lips: Grape Vine

Ich hab' ein Herz für Lippenbalsam. Ein Monster-Herz für Lippenbalsam.

Mein neustes Schätzchen ist von Maybelline und in Deutschland leider nicht (noch nicht...?) erhältlich: Der Baby Lips lip balm in Grape Vine.

Das sagt Maybelline: "No more basic lip balm. Lip renew formula and 8-hr hydration for visibly renewed lips in 4 weeks. Clinical care for baby soft-lips."

Es ist ein farbiger Lippenbalsam, der in einer typischen Lippenpflegestift-Hülle steckt. Die Verpackung ist ziemlich bunt, das macht das Auffinden in meiner Handtasche leichter. Die Farbe ist nicht allzu intensiv, sie hinterlässt nur eine leichte Tönung und ein wenig Glanz. Der Duft erinnert, wie der Name schon sagt, an Trauben. Die Textur fühlt sich geschmeidig an auf den Lippen. Ob die Baby Lips lip balms die Lippenhaut tatsächlich erneuern, kann ich nicht bestätigen. Die Haltbarkeit entspricht der eines gewöhnlichen Lippenbalsams. Die lip balms kosten in den Staaten um die 4$. Ich hoffe, dass sie demnächst auch in Deutschland erhältlich sein werden. Ich brauche mehr :)

Lip balm is my not so secret obsession. The latest addition to my collection is Maybelline's Baby Lips lip balm in Grape Vine. That's what Maybelline is saying about Baby Lips: "No more basic lip balm. Lip renew formula and 8-hr hydration for visibly renewed lips in 4 weeks. Clinical care for baby soft-lips."

It's a tinted lip balm in a typical, very colorful chapstick packaging (makes it easier to find it in my purse). The color payoff is not too intense, Grape Vine just leaves a hint of color and some shine. The scent reminds me of grapes, like the name Grape Vine already suggests it.

It feels smooth on the lips and leaves them hydrated, but I can't tell if they really renew my lips. It lasts about an hour or two, just as long as any other lip balm I own.

They retail for about 4$ and are not yet available in Germany. But maybe they are coming soon....fingers crossed, because I need more :)

Der OPI Nagellack der Woche: Thanks A WindMillion

Es ist tatsächlich passiert: Der Sommer war da/ ist da und bleibt bitte! Fast 3 Tage echten Sonnenschein hatten wir in meiner Stadt! Ich habe nicht mehr dran geglaubt. Also habe ich in meine Sommerkollektions-Box gepackt und herausgefischt habe ich: Thanks A WindMillion aus der Holland Kollektion vom letzten Jahr. Es ist ein dunkles, rauchiges Mintgrün. Zwei Schichten machen ihren Job gut und sehen toll aus zu weiß, bordeaux und Jeans. Es war übrigens ein Kopf an Kopf-Rennen mit Mermaid's Tears aus der Pirates of the Caribbean Kollektion. Aber der Sommer ist ja hoffentlich noch lang und mintgrün geht immer!

It finally happened: Summer was here/is here and has to stay please! We had almost three days filled with sunshine! Sunshine means time for some sunny colors. So I checked my summer collections and picked out Thanks A WindMillion from OPI's Holland Collection which has been released last year. It's a super pretty smoky sea green. Two coats for full opacity are just fine. It looks gorgeous paired with all sorts of whites, reds and denim. I had to choose between Thanks A WindMillion and Mermaid's Tears from The Pirares of the Caribbean Collection and this time Holland won. But summer is long (hopefully) and I always love me some nice sea greens.

Der OPI Nagellack der Woche: Too Hot Pink to Hold'Em

Es ist mal wieder an der Zeit für etwas mehr Farbe auf meinen Nägeln. Es ist mittlerweile Juni und das Termometer zeigte heute morgen ganze 10Grad an. Yaaaay. Nicht. Aber alles meckern über das Wetter bringt sowieso nichts, also immer her mit den bunten Farben.

Too Hot Pink to Hold'Em aus der Texas Collection vom Frühjahr 2011 ist wie gemacht für einen (Nicht-)Sommer.

Es ist ein knalliges Sorbet- Pink, dass mich sehr an Himbeer-Götterspeise erinnert. Too Hot Pink to Hold'Em ist ein Jelly. Ich bin etwas zwiegespalten was die Konsistenz angeht. Ich liebe das ultraglänzende Finish, aber diese halb-transparente Konsistenz macht mich nicht so glücklich. Der Farbauftrag ist super easy, aber ich mag es einfach nicht, wenn mein Nagel unter dem Nagellack durchschimmert. Lustigerweise habe ich fast alle Jellys aus der Texas Collection. Die Farben sind bis auf die Transparenz auch einfach toll. 

Time for some serious color change. It's June already and it's literally freezing outside (10 degree is not what I call summer temperature). So at least my nail polish should be more summer-like and that's why I chose Too Hot Pink to Hold'Em from the Texas Collection that has been released in spring 2011. 

It's a pink sorbet. It's also a jelly, which means that its super glossy, but semi-sheer. I like my finish more creamy, because I'm not a fan of a visible nail line. But besides that the formula of Too Hot Pink to Hold'Em is easy to work with. Maybe that's why I have nearly all Jellys from the Texas Collection.
